"Established in 1903, Vauxhall Motors has been building motor vehicles without a break for 110 years.
As a major contributor to the UK economy, approximately 28,000 people are employed directly or indirectly through the company’s activities. Throughout its history, Vauxhall’s Forward Thinking philosophy has contributed to the transformation of the automotive industry, evident in our contribution to whole new segments of the European car market with innovative cars like the Ampera extended-range electric vehicle.
Vauxhall’s range spans all mainstream sectors of the vehicle market with best-selling model names such as Corsa, Astra, Meriva, Zafira and Insignia regularly in the top ten of the sales charts. Vauxhall is also the largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles in the UK and its parent company General Motors’ 4th largest global market. In 2012, Vauxhall achieved a market share of just under 12% with over 258,000 vehicles sold. Additionally, 85% of the Astras built at Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port plant and 65% of the Vivaro vans built in Luton are bound for export, further underlining Vauxhall’s value to the country’s economy.
Through combining our passion with quality, reliability and innovative technology, Vauxhall continues its drive for UK market leadership."
